60 Lbs

I went to the vet last Wednesday and I weigh just about 60 lbs. Not too shabby for 6 months old. My trainer thinks that I will be around 80/85 when I am full grown. I will keep you posted.

I met Aunt E's and Uncle J's dogs today...

How do you think it went? Not good. Well it wasn't terrible the whole time. Let me lay out the scene for you. There is a Pekingnese named Spike, Pug named Mongo, and American Bulldog named Meathead. We were all fine until Spike yelped at me. That really pissed me off. He weighs 15 lbs and I weigh almost 60. Who does he think he is? So I growled at him...what else was I supposed to do? He came into my house and tried to be tough. It made me even more mad when Mom picked him up and was loving on him. Mom took Spike out to the car and then there were 2! Then I took out Mongo....he was really scared. Then there was 1! The last one left was Meathead...he was such a scaredy cat, sorry I mean dog. I attacked him too. Alright, so maybe the first meeting didnt go well. Maybe, next time I will do better...maybe?? Look at me though, does it look like I would hurt another dog? :)

My Story...

I have blogged a few times and realized that I never told my story on how I ended up with my Mom and Dad. I was born on September 27, 2008. At that time I had no idea where my "home" would be. Carlos Rojas, owner of Jagermeister Shepherds, is part owner of my dog mom and had her sent to Germany to get bred. She came back and had her puppies. All were sold except for me. The other owner of my dog mom, T Floyd, was going to keep me for himself. I like to think that I was the best pick. At the same time this was happening, my Mom and Dad had another German Shepherd named Otto. He was a black and tan 3 year old. They dropped him off at the end of November to go to training with Carlos Rojas at Jagermeister Shepherds for 3 week board and train program. They were scheduled to pick him up on December 16, 2008, two days after they got back from their honeymoon. Before they had a chance to pick him up, they received a call while in Jamaica that Otto had to be put to sleep because he developed bloat in his stomach. They were devastated. Later they told me that finding out about Otto ruined their honeymoon. I felt really bad about that. Back to the story, Carlos Rojas felt so bad about losing Otto (even though it was not his fault), that he offered one of his own puppies to them. This puppy was already being picked up by another family but he was going to tell them that the puppy wasn't for sale anymore. He ended up giving that puppy away and offered my Mom and Dad another puppy from a partner of his, that dog ended up being ME. They picked me up on December 23, 2008. I was the C Litter from T Floyd so they had to name with a "C". Because of everything that Carlos did for my parents and trying to save Otto, they decided that Carlo was the most suitable name. Mom and Dad always say that everything happens for a reason. I hope that I can be a great dog to make up for that loss that they felt when they lost Otto. I never met Otto, but I am sure I would have liked him. It is kind of funny because people always refer to me as Otto by accident.

Today...

Today was a good day for me, Today i head butted my Dad right in the forehead and it felt really good because he pulled a choker on me on Saturday. i like jumping on the counter a lot because i think there is food up there that i can eat. They say this strange word that sounds like off but i'm not sure what that really means. I like playing with my toys and now i like doing tricks because i get little treats called buddies. i know how to sit, paw it up and i also know how to give a high five. there will be more to come i am sure of it but for now this is what i know and what i want to do and one more thing i know how to stay and come. That's all i want to say for now you will hear more from me soon. Thank you for your time...Carlo

Unleashed...Not Really?

Me in my crate...do I look comfortable? I like to make Mom and Dad laugh.

Meet my Family...

Mom and Dad… They are very interesting. I hang out with dad most mornings and at lunch. I have started this thing where I just bark my head off in front of him. He has no idea what is going on. It is quite comical. Mom on the other hand is the first home every night. Sometimes we got to the park and other times we just wait for Dad to get home. They get into these strange fights where they will yell at each other but then just start laughing. Are they really fighting or what? The other day my mom decided it was a good idea to run into the morning room (no idea why they call it a morning room when they hang out there all different times during the day) and throw the couch cushion on the floor because she was cranky. Dad just laughed at her. I didn’t mind, it was another bed on the floor for me.

Grandma…Dad’s Mom. She is a pretty cool lady, even though she doesn’t move very fast. She gives me lots of treats and loves to come see me. She blames me for being the reason her knee hurts so sometimes I have to give a barking fit like I give Dad and Mom. Mom and Dad take me to visit her quite often and I like it.

Aunt Stef…Dad’s sister. Aunt Stef used to come over all the time and play with me when I was a puppy. I see her once in a while when I am over grandma’s.

Uncle Benji…I am not sure where he is from. He looks a lot different than Mom and Dad and they seem to make fun of each other a lot.

Some others that I see or don’t want to see…Grandma and Grandpa (Mom’s parents), Nala (Mom’s parents dog that attacked me as soon as I laid foot in the house), Uncle B (haven’t seen him for awhile), and Aunt E (she always talks on the phone with Mom and Mom feels the need to have her say HI to me every time)
